Greywind, built in 1968, was designed by local architect Willard Wurzburg, the architect for the restoration of the General Adam Stephen house in the 1960s. The design combines mid-century modern elements with Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Usonian” style of architecture.

Typical of Usonian homes, Greywind is a single story dwelling with a carport instead of a garage, and no basement, or attic. Other Usonian elements include a flat roof and minimal windows on the front (or public) side.

The main entrance accesses an open living, dining, and kitchen area featuring a brick fireplace wall, tile and wood floors, and large windows that bring the outside in. The owners’ eclectic choices in furnishings and art make this a home that will offer points of interest for all tastes.
