The Dolley Madison Garden Club received a small grant of one thousand dollars from the Shenandoah-Potomac Garden Council in March 2026. The grant enabled the club to replace plants in the perennial garden and plant two white dogwood trees on the fire department grounds. The Bakerton Fire Department is located at 891 Carter Avenue, Harpers Ferry, WV. The club carefully chose perennial plants that would withstand drought, cold, and deer. The Dolley Madison Garden Club completed this project in April 2026.
