The Wizard Clip Garden Club completed a large grant landscaping project in 2020. The historic 1786 village of Middleway (first known as Smithfield) has four entrances. The SPGC’s grant of $5,345, plus help from the Middleway Conservancy Association and $600 from the Wizard Clip Club’s treasury, made it possible to place four attractive welcome signs with stone-rimmed gardens below each sign at the entrances. The eight signposts are wrapped in vinyl to provide protection from moisture and UV rays, thus extending the life of the posts. The gardens are planted with perennials and annual blooming plants. The Wizard Clip Club members care for the four gardens.
